A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens is not only one of the best Christmas stories ever told, but also one of the most versatile. The idea of facing your past and the inevitable future that will follow one’s current lifestyle is an idea most of us can relate to – and some times we would profit from a life-retrospective à la Scrooge.

A Christmas Carol will appear more than once on this list and while the general outline is always the same, the movies are often so different that we can enjoy Dickens more than once during the Christmas season.

The start will be made with Bill Murray – great as always – and the story about Frank Cross, a television executive, facing the three ghosts of Christmas.
