Finally a trailer for the movie starring Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale about the Boxer “Irish” Mickey Ward (Wahlberg) and his trainer/brother Dick Ecklund (Bale)
I’m really looking forward to Christian Bale gearing up for a drama again, after the two Batman films I started to believe he would never return to roles like he played in “The Machinist” but it looks like he’s back and maybe this role will finally earn Bale his Oscar nomination, but it’s too early to judge from such a short trailer.
Also staring Amy Adams who is probably most famous to mainstream audiences for Disney’s Enchanted, who got her first Oscar nom for 2008’s Doubt. Adding to the cast which is already very heavy on previous nominations is Melissa Leo (nomination for Best Actress in 2008’s Frozen River).
The movie is directed by David O. Russell (Three Kings)
The movie opens on december 10th in america and according to filmstarts.de it will be released in 2010… but don’t count on it, I’m guessing either a release in january which will vanish from most austrian cinemas quite quickly or a post-oscar season release with “nominated for X oscars” tagged onto it
