In just  4 weeks the fourth Season of Game of Thrones will return. Riding on many promises (for example that this year there won’t be a “Episode 9” meaning the episode where everything goes haywire but instead many episodes fighting for that title) I can’t wait to find out how the tables will be turned this year. Now HBO has unveiled yet another trailer for Season 4 and there is still a recap video of Seasons 1-3 to come similarly to what they did in the previous years. But for now enjoy the newest trailer with even more dragon shots:

This summer Breaking Bad comes to an end.

The second half of the fifth Season will conclude the story of Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul). Just eight more episodes until the end of the series – eight more episodes separating this series from achieving a „perfect score“ in my book.

A perfect score would mean that the series never made any serious misssteps or dragged out certain storylines or forced character changes for the sake of it. It would mean that Breaking Bad was a series with an artistic backbone using the TV medium to tell one of the greatest stories out there.

  • Why the perfect score is important
  • Why this relates to Lost and my therapy
  • Why a failure of Breaking Bad would mean additional therapy for me
  • and what this has to do with Game of Thrones

Banner Phase Two

There is a lot of responsibility resting on the shoulders of Iron Man 3. Not only does the movie have to make up for Iron Man 2 it also has to launch Marvel’s second phase in a post-Avengers world. So the movie not only has its own problems but needs to justify the solo movie in a world in which the audience knows that there is a hero around every corner.

So far Marvel Iron Man 3 looks to go into Iron Man Rises territory with Stark being defeated by an enemy who has ties to the first Iron Man movie (the ten rings have been hinted from the very beginning). Iron Man 3 will have a lot of different Iron Man suits (and a cynic might say that it is to sell more toys… which is probably one of the reasons) and aside from Tony’s golden armor which is featured in the trailers a new concept art has been released (via Comicbookmovie):

Long before the Hobbit was announced to be a trilogy and before Peter Jackson was set to direct it another director was set to be the director: Guillermo Del Toro.
Having created such iconic movies as Pan’s Labyrinth and having managed to capture a magical mysterious atmosphere with Hellboy II Del Toro seemed like a fantastic way to bring a new spin to Middle-Earth. And while I am very happy with Peter Jackson I can’t help to mourn the loss of a Del Toro helmed Hobbit. In an interview with io9 Peter Jackson is now talking about Del Toro’s influence:
