Der Name John Le Carré ist schon lange nicht mehr aussschließlich mit Romanen assoziiert. Der Ewige Gärtner (engl.: The Constant Gardener) und Dame, König, As, Spion (engl.: Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy) sind lediglich die zwei neuesten Filmadaptionen. Nun reiht sich A Most Wanted Man in diese Liste ein und wartet mit den für Le Carré typischen moralisch grauen Charakteren auf. Allen voran gibt der vor kurzem tragischerweise verstorbene Philip Seymour Hoffman seine letzte leading-Performance.
Gary Oldman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Colin Firth, Tom Hary, Mark Strong, John Hurt, Konstantin Khabensky in a thriller by Thomas Alfredson (Let the Right One In). All those factors peaked my anticipation grow and I was sure I would suffer another disappointment due to heightened expectations.
Note: this is a special review since a colleague of mine had the pleasure of visiting England a couple of days ago, where he managed to watch a screening of the already highly acclaimed (and highly anticipated by this site) Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.
In this movie adaption of the book Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy (by John le Carré) Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight) plays Smiley, a former spy who returns from retirement to find a mole in the MI6.
