Will Russell Crowe become the new Gunslinger?

Hm… so there is some news on Ron Howard’s adaption of The Dark Tower. Apparently Warner Brothers will receive the revised script (by Akiva Goldsman) for the first Tower movie. So the rumors of Warner Brothers possibly being the new home for the Gunslinger seem to come true.

Furthermore Javier Bardem (who has been attached to the project as the titular Gunslinger) seems to be no longer attached to the project. The current Gunslinger might be Russell Crowe.

Nothing is official yet as Deadline reports but it is not that unlikely seeing as Crowe is currently featuring in Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot Man of Steel.
