Comic Con is on its way and we can expect many genre news in the following days. IGN has revealed a poster for Godzilla (coming on May 16th 2014) directed by Gareth Edwards (Monsters (2012)).
The poster (as well as the variant) is done by Mondo and as usual with Mondo it has a very unique style:
Godzilla will star Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad, Drive), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass), Ken Watanabe (Batman Begins, Inception), Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene) and Juliette Binoche (Caché, Cosmopolis).
Pacific Rim has opened last weekend in America and sadly didn’t manage to overcome the newest Adam Sandler travesty Grown Ups 2. Both movies fell behind Despicable Me 2 which held the number one spot for the second weekend.

So the giant monsters genre might not be as profitable as expected. But contrary to Pacific Rim the reboot of Godzilla has the advantage of brand recognition and might have it easier to gather numbers than Del Toro’s “original monster movie”.
