Into Darkness Villain Plan

In recent Hollywood movies there has been a new trend for movie villains. Back in the days it was all about the villain and his hideout. The hero would get trapped and had to find a way to escape. Now the roles have reversed and the villain visits the hero. Now we care less about how the hero gets out but what the villain is actually planning.
When Bendedict Cumberbatch’s character John Harrison yelled “Then I surrender” I prepared for the inevitable evil masterplan to unfold. To my surprise the plan of Star Trek Into Darkness was surprisingly simple. And in retrospective it felt not that super convenient.

Hit the jump to find out what I think happened in the newest Star Trek movie and why it made more sense than Lost despite having the same author.

A Lannister always pays his debts
Directed by David Benioff and written by both showrunners Benioff and D.B. Weiss this week’s episode Walk of Punishment was an early highlight in Season 3. We got a handful of things to go through and the only truly bad thing about the episode was the song played at the end.

It started with a planecrash on a deserted island and what followed was a television phenomenon that would span 5 seasons of intricate puzzles – and a final season which pretended that it has never been about the riddles after all.

But no matter how disappointing the “have-the-cake-and-eat-it”- finale has been before this Lost was undeniably a fantastic show and the disappointment over the ending just shows the craftsmanship behind the storytelling.

Super 8 is a children’s movie…
I mean this in the best sense of the word…
A movie for people who thought “why are there no more movies for kids like the ones Steven Spielberg made?

Directed by J.J. Abrams (Star Trek XI, Mission Impossible III) the first teaser made Super 8 appear to be in the vein of Cloverfield (produced by Abrams), but make no mistake, it is not primarily about a monster.
It is a movie about a group of children who are spending the summer making a title giving super 8 movie when a big train accident happens.

But was it an accident?
And what the hell was in this train? A
nd why is the military sealing of the city?

What started out as a film project very fast turns into an adventurous sci fi story.
