Movie Advent Calendar 2011

Christmas time is here again!

And like every year I am in full Christmas mood despite my lack of religious allegiance.

What I love about the Christmas season is the way it reminds me of our humanity. In a time where it gets dark around 4 o’clock, where everything is cold and logically we shouldn’t have a reason to be joyous… we have managed to motivate ourselves.

Snow is no longer just associated with wetness and cold feet – no now we look forward to some hot punch, some chestnuts and the lit up houses of crazy neighbours…

Christmas is a celebration during a a time where we shouldn’t be celebrating, we should stay at home and not go outside, but we can’t wait to celebrate with each other. It is a celebration of humanity like a light that says: the darker it gets the more we will find out why it is worth living.

So with this mindset I will again feature a Movie-Advent Calendar like last year, but this time it won’t be a list of movie-suggestions. It will be 24 moments from movies that either define a film that I associate with Christmas, maybe it is a Christmas special from a TV-series or it can be just one fantastic scene related to Christmas (watch out for a certain boat that rocked).

So with that being said I hope you enjoy the 2011 Movie-Advent Calendar:
