Is „very good“ good enough for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey?
This was the question of a review over at hitfix and it is an incredibly accurate description of the dilemma that Peter Jackson’s return to Middle-Earth has to face.
Set 60 years before the Lord of the Rings trilogy this first installment of the Hobbit-Trilogy tells the story of how Bilbo Baggins (a wonderful Martin Freeman) went from being a respected to an adventurous Hobbit who would join Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) and his 12 fellow dwarves. Together with the ever mysterious and grumpy wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) their mission is to get to the lonely mountain Erebor to kill the Dragon Smaug and reclaim the mountain which used to be the home of Thorin’s race.
UPDATE: According to The Hollywood Reporter there will be budget constraints and script rewrites… I hope the speculation at the bottom of the article is just guessing by THR.

Good news Everyone!
Well kinda…
After the project The Dark Tower ran into some problems because of budget reasons people started seeing the Tower crumble. Would it mean that this project was just too big and expensive for Universal to handle?
Well according to Deadline this is not the case!
Dark Tower will continue to be made, but the production that was supposed to start this summer will be delayed to February 2012 which will also mean that The Dark Tower probably won’t hit the screen in 2013 as planned, but to be honest I can live with that as long as it gets going.
How do you sell a movie about Gods?
That was the tricky question Marvel had to answer when kicking off the summer season with Thor – a movie where the trailers have not managed to get me excited to watch this movie and seeing that posters looked a bit too campy as well my expectations for Thor were pretty low.
Maybe because of that I must say that Thor is a thoroughly entertaining summer blockbuster. It starts of with the typical “random thing happening” at the beginning before we jump into a long flashback to see where this man who has appeared out of nowhere infront of Natalie Portman has come from.
